Who pays for the installation of the optical outlet (OTO)?
In most cases, installation of the optical outlet (OTO) is covered by the activation fees and does not incur any additional charges.
However, in the following exceptional cases, the homeowner will have to pay for the installation:
- Extension of an existing building (e.g. new floor)
- Division of a building into several properties
- Request for installation after an owner has refused free installation in the past
In such cases, the procedure is as follows:
- Our customers are informed while the order is being processed by our technical teams
- The installation fees are determined by the technician depending on the customer's situation.
Where is the optical outlet (OTO) installed?
The location of the OTO outlet is chosen in accordance with OFCOM guidelines (article 6.4 of the Technical Guidelines concerning FTTH In-House Installations).
In private homes, the OTO outlet can be installed in a multimedia distributor, if one is available, or in the living room.
Any relocation of an existing outlet is not covered by the activation fees.
